I am a devout nature lover and a PADI Master Instructor. I love nothing more than introducing people to the underwater world to inspire them to care about and help protect the majesty and biodiversity of our ocean and its coral reefs. I love serving the dive club by creating a strong community of divers to enjoy the natural wonders, creating lasting memories and friendships.

I co-founded Active Divers Association in 1970 along with Lee Wood. I was a scuba instructor for many years with the YMCA, and served as President of Active Divers for 46 years until 2022. As a lifelong athlete, I currently compete and have placed in local and national Senior Games in the discus throw. When I'm not diving or competing I enjoy camping with my family.

It's a crime to live in South Florida and not dive. especially for me since I live in the Keys. My wife (Rosie) and I became certified in the mid sixties. I helped Lon in the YMCA pool with classes when ADA was originally formed, I later became a YMCA Instructor. The rest is history, Dive trips all over the Caribbean, Mexico, Bahama's, Jamaica, the Caymans and last but not least, camping, exploring and diving the Florida Springs. Over those almost 60 years I've served ADA in many capacities, including Safety Officer, Board Member, Membership Chairman and Vice President; It's been a wild ride and a good one!

I began diving in the mid-70s, earning various PADI certifications, including Master Scuba Diver Trainer. After owning and operating a dive shop, I shifted focus to underwater photography in the 80s, later transitioning to digital media. Now, I collaborate with my colleague Daryl to plan and lead international dive trips.

I was certified in 1990 and was handed a business card on a Key Largo dive that had Active Divers on board. I joined the club and have been diving with them ever since. My first international dive with the club was on a trip Lon Von Lintel ran to Cozumel which really opened my eyes to the wide world of diving. I progressed to a Dive Master, Safety Officer and Board Member of the club. I am grateful to be a part of making this club an enduring success promoting diving and conservation.

For the past 20 years, I've been an avid diver, exploring South Florida's waters and traveling to destinations like Fiji, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Scuba diving allows me to experience marine life, reefs, and shipwrecks while enjoying the tranquility and camaraderie of the dive community.

My love for the ocean runs deep. Learning to swim as an adult sparked a journey that led me to become a divemaster over the past 2 1/2 years. Open water swimming is a particular joy, and I try to spend as much time as possible in the waters off South Florida.
